We are delighted to announce the addition of the ms Amacello and ms Amadante to our exclusive fleet of luxury river ships. Both will be on the water for what promises to be an exciting 2008 cruising season, with a fifth ship now being developed for launch in 2009.
The extension of our ownership of these ships is the result of overwhelming demand for bookings, which has again confirmed that our discerning travellers want only the very best. Which is exactly what the recently launched 6 - star ms Amadagio and ms Amalegro provide, having set unparalleled standards in European River Cruising. On board any ship in our luxury fleet, you will enjoy more room than on any other cruise ship in Europe. Significantly, all 75 spacious staterooms are outside cabins and over 80% feature French balconies, allowing a personal view to the region's delights.
On board dining in our intimate restaurant is simply sublime. Each meal is adapted to reflect the culture of the differing areas we visit and created fresh daily from locally grown gourmet produce. Breakfast and lunch comprise a sumptuous array of hot and cold cuisine from the buffet, while dinners consist of four course à la carte dining with complimentary wine from local wineries.

ms Amadagio / Amalegro / Amacello and Amadante
All staterooms feature private facilities, a cosy sitting area, direct - dial phone, flat - screen TV, internet access, safe, air - conditioning and ample closet space. All staterooms are outside, with over 80% featuring sliding glass doors and French balconies. Complimentary wines are offered with all dinners on board.
Relax in a deck chair or the whirlpool atop the Sun Deck, enjoy a drink at the Lido Bar, work out in the Fitness Room or indulge your self with a treatment in the Hair and Massage Salon.
New for 2008 - ms Amacello and ms Amadante
With a highly successful 2006 sailing season on board the newly launched ms Amadagio and the 2007 season almost sold out for both the ms Amadagio and its new sister ship, the ms Amalegro, we are very excited to announce the development of our third and fourth exclusively owned ships, the ms Amacello and ms Amadante. A welcome addition to our luxury fleet, both ships will cater to the huge demand created by our travellers, and both will be on the water in time for what is shaping as a very exciting 2008 European River Cruising season.
The Inaugural Journey
The ms Amacello's maiden voyage is set for March 2008, while the ms Amadante first sails in June the same year. Both will see our travellers exclusively embark on the ever - popular 15 Day Magnificent Europe cruise. These inaugural journeys will see our luxury river ships coasting the most picturesque stretch of the Rhine from the vibrant city of Amsterdam, continuing through to the beautiful lights of Budapest on the famous Danube River. Along the way, they will take in such remarkable 'old world' places as medieval Cologne, scenic Würzburg, historic Vienna and so much more.
Throughout 2008
Both vessels will be sailing from Amsterdam Budapest, and vice versa, regularly throughout 2008, on a range of different tours. Apart from this, the ms Amacello will also be undertaking the Legendary Danube and Blue Danube Discovery cruises, sailing along the Main - Danube Canal and the Danube River between Budapest and Nuremberg, with an extension of three nights in Prague. Then, in late 2008, the ms Amacello be visiting various charming Christmas Markets in cities and towns throughout the Czech Republic, Germany, Austria and Hungary. Bicycles - a unique cruising feature
Each ship has 25 bicycles on board which can be used by passengers free of charge to visit the small towns. Today, most regions offer well maintained bicycle paths along the river, away from busy main roads.
Infotainment System
Every stateroom is equipped with a monitor and keyboard with internet access, English - language television stations, a large movie selection and numerous music programs. The satellite telephone system allows you to call home for only €1 per minute.
Soothing Wellness Area
Located in the aft area of the Violin Deck, the wellness area includes a glassed - in fitnessroom, massage, beauty salon and the intimate Lounge with bar, modern wicker furniture and French doors to enjoy fresh air. The Lounge can be reserved for special group meetings or functions.
Elevator
In contrast to most other river ships, all our ships have an elevator reaching four different levels: the restaurant level (1), the staterooms on the Cello Deck (2), the lobby and panorama lounge (3) and the staterooms on the Violin Deck (4).

Launched in 2006, the ms Sound of Music offers a world-class cruising experience. Though the ship could accommodate up to 160 passengers, APT opted for comfort and superior space, settling on 32 less people than possible, giving you greater floorspace per passenger.

A highlight is a trip to a rural Yangtze River village to meet children at a local school sponsored by Viking River Cruises. .
On board your ship, there are a host of included cultural activities to enjoy. Rise early and take Tai Chi lessons on the Sun Deck and feel your chi (energy) levels rise, or perhaps sip a selection of Chinese teas at a Tea .
Ceremony and learn about different teas and drinking etiquette. Other activities include a lecture by the Cruise Director on the history of the Yangtze River and its significance to the Chinese people. You can also take in a Chinese language lesson or relax the Chinese way with Mahjong lessons or a traditional massage in the spa (own expense). .
