Cruising Europe's Rivers - possible the most relaxing holiday ever
Away from busy highways, the rivers of Europe thread intimately through beautiful and historic landscapes. This is quite possibly the most leisurely and convenient way to travel. As the clear market leaders, with over eight years of experience in European river cruising, we have created a wide variety of dream journeys ideal for the traveller looking to discover Europe and the former Soviet Union.
Representing six of the nine ships in APT's 2009 European river cruising fleet are in fact luxury riverships that we have financed, designed and built ourselves. The ms Amadagio, ms Amacello, ms Amadante, ms Amalegro, ms Amalyra and ms Amadolce are nearly identical sister ships that were only recently built, with you - our valued travellers - in mind. These ships vary only minimally in their specifications but do not vary at all in the quality, style, convenience and sophistication for which they have become renowned.
As our 2008 European river cruising program was met with such an amazing response, for 2009 we have maximised your opportunity to take advantage of the river cruising holidays on offer by presenting more departure dates than any other company. To do so, we carefully sourced three additional river ships for our fleet - the ms Sound of Music, ms Serenade 2 and ms Excellence - to take our travellers cruising through Europe's heart. Each was hand-chosen for its unique charm, comfort and luxury as well as its wide range of facilities and its similarity to our own ships. Each journey on which they cruise is an Exclusive Sailing, meaning that the entire ship is occupied by APT passengers.

Enjoy a choice of outdoor areas - the expansive Sun Deck, a second Lower Sun Deck and a third Teak Front Deck. Inside, as well as the Main Lounge, there is an intimate Rear Lounge with French Balconies and superb views, as well as a Library, Fitness Centre, Massage & Beauty Salon, Boutique Shop, 24-hour Reception Area, complimentary bicycles for on-shore exploration and an elevator for easy movement between levels.

Launched in 2006, the ms Sound of Music offers a world-class cruising experience. Though the ship could accommodate up to 160 passengers, APT opted for comfort and superior space, settling on 32 less people than possible, giving you greater floorspace per passenger.

Over a drink, enjoy sweeping views in the Panorama Lounge, take a book from the library to the Sun Deck or indulge at the spacious Spa, with Turkish baths, steam room and a range of massage and beauty treatments.
Luxurious Suites
All suites on the ms Sound of Music are beautifully appointed and offer world-class facilities. In many suites are innovative French Balconies, while plush bedding, a closet, fully-equipped ensuite bathroom and a separate desk area round out your lavish home-away-from home.
Elegant On-Board Dining
Created with fresh local produce, breakfast consists of a buffet, while lunch comprises a three-course meal and a buffet. Dinner is a four-course affair with local wine included. Room service is available on Violin Deck.

All staterooms feature private facilities, a cosy sitting area, direct - dial phone, flat - screen TV, internet access, safe, air - conditioning and ample closet space. All staterooms are outside, with over 80% featuring sliding glass doors and French balconies. Complimentary wines are offered with all dinners on board.
Relax in a deck chair or the whirlpool atop the Sun Deck, enjoy a drink at the Lido Bar, work out in the Fitness Room or indulge your self with a treatment in the Hair and Massage Salon

ms Tolstoy
Built specifically for Russia's waterways, the ms Tolstoy is aptly named after the famous author Leo Tolstoy, this unique ship was built for high-ranking Kremlin officials and visiting foreign dignitaries, making it one of the most luxurious ships ever built for cruising the Russian waterways.
Comfortable staterooms
The vessel's boutique size, compared to other ships, means that cabins are up to 20% larger. Standard cabins are 110 sq. ft and all feature picture windows which open, as well as two single beds, ample closet space, a makeup table and a bathroom that is around 50% bigger than on most ships. Bathrooms boast a separate shower area instead of yacht-style hand-held showers that many use. Deluxe staterooms feature two large picture windows, a sitting area and twin beds which can be positioned together, while the suites are even more spacious, with three picture windows and a dayroom complete with a TV and refrigerator.Public Areas on Board
Enjoy a drink in the Kostroma Lounge or unwind in the more intimate Kostroma Bar. Read a book in the peace of the Pushkin Library, listen to a concert or a lecture in Tchaikovsky Hall or take in a film in the Movie Hall. The ship's Sun Deck and the Patio Deck are ideal for panoramic views and other amenities include a sauna, beauty salon, souvenir shop and an indoor swimming pool with sliding sun roof and poolside bar. For your indulgence, the Katrina Restaurant provides world-class dining experiences during your included breakfasts, lunches and dinners.
